It’s 2026. In the days of social media, why am I starting a blog? For starters, I’m terrible at social media. Every few months, I get it into my head that I’m going to start posting more, and it lasts about a day. I just don’t really click with those spaces. Scrolling – yes. Posting – not so much.

I’m a writer, so a blog seems like more my speed. I’ll be talking about my writing, the progress I’m making with my current project, and offering pieces of writing advice I’ve picked up along the way. I’m by no means an expert, but if there are little nuggets that others might find useful, I’m happy to share.

I’ll also be sharing books I’ve enjoyed; only those I’ve enjoyed. I’m not here to criticise books I didn’t like, because that writer probably poured at least two years of their life into it. They don’t need a negative review from me. There are plenty of amazing reviewers out there who can offer deeper insight into what made a book work, but that’s not me. I want to share stories that I love.

Simple, really. Books and writing. My two biggest passions. I’ll try to post about once a fortnight, but I can’t guarantee that life won’t get in the way. It usually does.

If you subscribe to my website, you’ll be the first to hear about new blog posts. If not, no big deal. We all receive too many emails as it is, and if you decide you don’t want one from me, that’s cool. This blog is a passion project for me, and I’ll be delighted if anyone else is interested in reading what I have to say.
